Last time I tested her she could hear to 20KHz no problem and even said she could feel something at 22Khz! Mind you, that was a few yrs ago.Īnyway with a fairly tizzy CD on, I said put your ear in front of that little black thing up there. My daughter was listening to a couple of CD's today - At 14yrs old she has the best high freq response hearing in the family (perhaps bar the cat). Is there anybody near me (Nottingham) who has equipment/and fully understands how to measure speaker responses - as a second opinion would be apreciated. I don't feel confident that i fully understand these packages i have used and would not be confident- that whats measured is correct. ![]() I can hear a little more top end, but is this because i had the top end 6db higher, the only disadvantage i could see was a slight lack of imaging ( suppose going from a single point source to two is worse).Ĭurrently am not seeing any real improvement from having these units installed - and am not sure if its because they are not performing as they should.ĭo my observations seem sensible. This is suggesting that JBL is only a couple of db more efficient than the lowther - which contridicts its quoted efficiency. ( I cannot hear anything past 13k anyway!). Without the JBL installed - seemed to continue flat, suggesting the Lowther is covering upto around 15k. When in phase the top end increased by about 8 db, when out of phase - dropped by around 6db. I believed the STEPS programme more ( as i gave what is was expecting to see- even though i don't understand what its doing) I had the tweeter with the 1st order x-over crossing about 9.5K, left the Lowthers running full range. ![]() Think the Mic calibration file wasn't configured properly. I am not sure if i believe what TrueRTA was telling me. Had a couple of hours - listening and sampling these tweeters using TrueRTA and a package called STEPS.
